Irish US is a soon to be launched site with the mission of enabling 36 million Irish Americans to share and read the stories of their families, history, and culture. They were looking to build a campaign focused on creating national awareness for the launch of their new website and Facebook page. Because of this, they needed a campaign to help them build both their following on Facebook and email list.
Social Contests worked with Irish US to build a Facebook contest for their brand new page with 0 fans. A “like-gate” was implemented to ensure fan base growth and an entry form was created to gain new email addresses for their email list. Irish US was able to leverage two promotional partners to contribute to the success of the campaign: Celtic Tours and The Irish American Heritage Museum. Celtic Tours agreed to sponsor the high value prize: A trip for two in Ireland while The Irish American Heritage Museum was able to promote the contest through their already existing email list. Both set up the campaign for great success. Additionally, a secondary “like” button for Celtic Tours was included in the entry form to thank them for sponsoring the prize and simultaneously grow their fan base.
